Personal Information Protection Policy

1. Basic Policy

  • This policy shall serve as a basis upon which the company may collect, use, dispose, or process personal information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 or Republic Act No. 10173.

2. Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Information

  • What is Personal Information

    Personal information refers to any information whether recorded in a material form or not, from which the identity of an individual is apparent or can be reasonably and directly ascertained by the entity holding the information, or when put together with other information would directly and certainly identify an individual.

  • What we collect

    Customer’s Personal Information is information which we may collect includes but not limited to:

    • Name, gender, date of birth, nationality, and birthplace;
    • Mailing address, telephone numbers, cellular phone numbers, email address, and other contact details;
    • Photographs and other audio-visual presentations;
    • Other information provided as part of the transaction with the company.
  • How we collect

    The company generally collects personal information that was known and voluntarily provided by the data subject during the course of transaction with the company or via a third party supplier, vendor or provider who has been authorized by the data subject to disclose the personal information to the company only after the data subject has been notified about the use and purpose of the personal information through the use of a written and signed consent form or an electronically signed consent form.

  • Purpose of collection

    For customers, the information will be collected and used for the following purposes:

    1. Completion of sale and shipment of the company’s products;
    2. Sending and/or providing product, support, or event information;
    3. In order to respond to inquiries and consultations;
    4. Issuance and provision of warranty services;
    5. Provide information about product development, questionnaire surveys, monitoring, and the like;
    6. Fulfillment of contractual liabilities, obligations, or rights with the customer;
    7. Organize and conduct business negotiations, meetings and other type of communications with the customer that are necessary in the course of business;
    8. Communicating with, reporting to, and responding to a recognized authority in the course of conducting business with the customer;
    9. Organize and manage communication channels and commercial negotiations with trade partners, including payment processing and other contract-related business
    10. Share information to third-party suppliers, vendors, or consultants for the purpose of enabling them to provide services and / or support in relation to contractual obligations and other functions for the benefit of the customer.
    11. To comply with laws and regulations as applicable to the company.
    12. When disclosure is necessary for the protection of human life, especially when the customer is physically unable to provide consent and is unable to send an authorized representative on his or her behalf.

3. Retention of Personal Information

  • For the fulfillment of the purposes on which the personal information were collected, the company may retain for the following condition:
    • For customer’s personal information, in the case that the data subject ceases business transactions with the company, or the company ceases having business with the customer, the physical records will be retained for a maximum of two (2) calendar years from effective date of cessation. The physical records will then be disposed of through existing company policy on waste segregation. On the other hand, the softcopy of essential documents of the customer will be retained to serve as reference.
  • Softcopy and / or hardcopy of the Personal information may be discarded or removed through written request by the data subject.

4. Transfer of Personal Information

  • Generally, data would not be transferred outside of Japan Display Inc. Group or Nanox Philippines, Inc. other than the purposes stated in this policy. However, if it is necessary, the company will obtain the consent of the customers for the transfer to be made and will take the necessary steps to ensure that the transferred personal information shall continue to have the standard protection.

5. Security of Personal Information

  • The company takes responsible and appropriate measures to protect Personal Information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, and destruction or disposal taking into consideration the processing and the nature of the personal information.

6. Your data privacy rights

  • In accordance with Data Privacy Act of 2012, we are committed to upholding the rights of the data subject in relation to his/her personal information.

7. Implementation

  • This Data Privacy Policy shall be implemented in conjunction with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and it’s implementing rules and regulations.
